As a musician and a child of the 80’s, I’ve always wanted to star in a music video… Well, it took some forty (!) years, but I finally got the chops together to write, record and create one. Too late for MTV, I present “Social Network (In My World)”
This is based on an old song snippet I wrote back in 2011 – back then a buddy and I had a short-lived weekly challenge called the One Minute Thursday Project; each week we had to send out a recording at least one minute long. Nothing fancy, anything musical. A snippet I wrote back then was “Social Network”, written after going out to a group dinner where I everyone spent the bulk of their time with their noses in the Facebooks. That snippet is also on YouTube here, and was basically the first verse of this final version. The interwebs and social media has gotten a little darker since the original version, so I’ve added a couple of verses to bring it up to date. Enjoy!
