A few changes this year – no Seanifer driving us to the PCL at the last moment. This year we decide to head over to Vancouver a day early “just in case”…
We all head down in my trusty truck, I drop off the boys and bikes and head over to Michele’s in James Bay to leave the truck then walk back. And five minutes after dropping of the boys, I get a text from Scott: “pick up off-sales”. That’s a promising start…
We PCL to YVR via the BCF. Pacific Buffet along the way, drop the bikes and panniers at YVR overnight storage, SkyTrain to downtown, walk to the Sandman hotel, finally drink the off-sales that I picked up in James Bay… Then down to Yaletown to officially start the trip!
Next morning we have time to kill. Not sure what the guys did; I found a coffee shop with wifi and cleaned up work stuff until around noon, then we headed to the airport to check in.
Check-in: relatively painless. Beer in International concourse: not painless. Very new Airbus to Frankfurt? Not bad, for a ten hour flight… Build, beer and on the road!
